By the Light of the Lavender Moon

August 17 @ 9:00 pm - 10:30 pm

The waxing crescent Moon has slipped into the underworld kingdom of Scorpio, on its way to true blue Full Moon phase, but not before it passes through its Lavender stage, that in between place where we are invited to wake into dreams and experience life’s deepest mysteries. Tonight, we may yet catch a stray Perseid as we gather under the thickest region of Milky Way stars to hear the tales of the night.

WHEN: 9-10:30pm – August 17th, 2021

COST: $12 Per Person in advance or $15 Per Person Night of Event

AGES: 8 & Up

PLEASE BRING: Blankets or camp chairs. Meet in front of the barn. In the event of inclement weather, this event will take place in the barn. “If you cannot see the stars, you can be the stars!”

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR: Mary Stewart Adams is a Star Lore Historian and founder of Michigan’s first international dark sky park, in Mackinaw City. She has received numerous honors for her work and travels extensively, advocating for natural darkness and teaching a humanities-based approach to understanding the night sky. You can hear the story in the stars each week on Mary’s radio segment “The Storyteller’s Night Sky”, which airs every Monday on Interlochen Public Radio.

QUESTIONS: Please direct any questions to Mary Stewart Adams 231-838-8181 mary@storytellersnightsky.com

Sign up for the Gaudy Giggles Family Paint class before the night sky event to paint your very own Lavender Moon canvas.

SAFETY FIRST: To ensure the safety of our guests and staff, we ask that everyone wear face masks when inside our boutique or barn, participating in artisan classes, or within close range to others. We are actively taking steps to keep our farm as clean and as safe as possible and greatly appreciate your cooperation.
