Night Sky Storytelling

July 13th, 2021

The Moon weaves a web of romance around the ancient lovers Venus and Mars this week, and by the time we meet, the waxing crescent will have carried their deepest secrets to the heart of the Lion, at the star Regulus, where all true romance is given the light that makes it shine! Join us for romantic tales of the night, of lover’s star crossed and triumphant, as they make their way through the land of the Milky Way.

WHEN: 9:30-11pm – July 13th, 2021

COST: $12 Per Person in Advance or $15 Per Person Night of Event

AGES: 8 & Up

PLEASE BRING: Blankets or camp chairs. Meet in front of the barn. In the event of inclement weather, this event will take place in the barn. “If you cannot see the stars, you can be the stars!”

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR: Mary Stewart Adams is a Star Lore Historian and founder of Michigan’s first international dark sky park, in Mackinaw City. She has received numerous honors for her work and travels extensively, advocating for natural darkness and teaching a humanities-based approach to understanding the night sky. You can hear the story in the stars each week on Mary’s radio segment “The Storyteller’s Night Sky”, which airs every Monday on Interlochen Public Radio.

QUESTIONS: Please direct any questions to Mary Stewart Adams 231-838-8181 mary@storytellersnightsky.com

Sign up for the Gaudy Giggles Paint & Sip class before the night sky event to paint your very own Romancing the Stars canvas.

SAFETY FIRST: To ensure the safety of our guests and staff, we ask that everyone wear face masks when inside our boutique or barn, participating in artisan classes, or within close range to others.
