Yoga in Bloom – Morning

Enjoy the fresh air as you move through a guided yoga practice in the presence of nature. This group class includes a supported flow available to anyone, from the beginner to the advanced yogi. Yoga in Bloom is about having fun and finding nourishing poses, encouraging your practice to blossom! Each class will end with a crystal quartz singing bowl meditation, soothing guided meditation, and a drop of house made lavender oil to enhance your experience.

Yoga Day Retreat

Yoga Roots Petoskey is hosting a Yoga Day Retreat at Lavender Hill Farm! This is your opportunity to spend an intentional day connecting to breath, body, self, and nature. Slow down and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you. Through mindfulness practices we can cultivate the skills to appreciate the present moment, this presence is the best gift we can give ourselves and others. Half and full day options available.

Sound Bath

Calm your mind, relax your body, and soothe your soul. Sound healing creates vibrations that support the balance of life force energy.  These vibrations affect the entire being, creating a profound peace which will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. Crystal and metal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes are just a few of the unique instruments used to create a soundscape intended to deepen meditative practices, provide stress relief, and lift the spirits. Join us for a restorative evening at the farm where you will lay back, relax, and receive the sounds.

Candlelight Yoga

Enjoy a night of soft light and deep relaxation in the barn at Lavender Hill Farm. Laura leads a gentle practice of breath centered stretching and movement. This class is accessible to all levels of experience. Dress cozy and don’t forget to bring your favorite blanket for Savasana.

Slow Flow Yoga

Slow flow yoga is a grounding movement practice that is for all yogic skill levels and ages. This yoga practice is deeply relaxing and connecting movement flow giving us tools to integrate into our lives. Lola creates a gentle, peaceful pace, and space for all yogis to dive deeper into the spaces between movements through breath and conscious flow of our own intuitive bodies.

Lunar Flow Yoga

This fun, slower paced lunar flow is all about tuning in and connecting with the energy of the full moon. While connecting with the breath, you will be guided through a grounded and tranquil flow that will leave you feeling more focused and centered. All levels are welcome.

Pilates, Core & More!

Let’s get the body moving! This class will focus on traditional Pilates Mat exercises, with a sprinkle of yoga asana, and acrobatic core drills. We will focus on technique, breath, precision, and flow. Come with an open mind and leave with a strong body!

Belly Dancing

Belly dance is a beautiful, empowering, dynamic movement for all bodies and ages that intuitively flows with our bodies. Belly dance is known to help increase bone density, it is a form of low impact exercise, it is stress reducing, and can aid in boosting one’s self esteem. No experience needed, just be ready to have fun :).

Breathwork Meditation Workshop

Focusing on the breath is a wonderful tool for calming the mind.  What better place to do so than among rolling and serene fields of lavender?  Take in the beauty and smell the blooms in this workshop, where we will explore different breathing techniques to help us cultivate clarity and ease.  When we meditate in a passive position the body naturally cools down, so dressing warmer or bringing an extra blanket can help alleviate the anticipated temperature difference.

Get Fit Boot Camp

A boot camp workout is essentially a type of interval training — bursts of low and high impact training activity alternated with intervals of lighter activity.  Bootcamp Workouts will vary slightly each week. Classes will include a mix of aerobic, strength training, and speed elements within each session. Modifications are given through class for different fitness levels. Upper, lower body, and core will be focused on during each class.

Barre Blend

A fun combination of barre, ballet, and Pilates style toning class. This class will have a strong emphasis on lean toning of the glute’s legs, and core, while working the entire body. The class will be low impact with cardio intervals during sets to burn and tone. This workout is a great addition to any cardio based classes or fitness routine.

Zumba

A type of dance fitness that has been around since the 1990s. It is the backbone of the dance fitness craze and incorporates a variety of Latin-inspired and pop dance moves with music to promote a healthy heart as well as a healthy dose of aerobic activity.  Zumba is a fun and exciting way to build and tone muscle, improve cardio, promote flexibility, and decrease stress. All levels of fitness are welcome. Low and high impact modifications are given.

It is the backbone of the dance fitness craze and incorporates a variety of Latin-inspired and pop dance moves with music to promote a healthy heart as well as a healthy dose of aerobic activity.  Zumba is a fun and exciting way to build and tone muscle, improve cardio, promote flexibility, and decrease stress. Zumba/Tone gives you the best of both worlds incorporating both dance and toning exercises to get you feeling great and in shape. All levels of fitness are welcome. Low and high impact modifications are given.  The first half of class will be Zumba dancing. The second half will be resistance and weight training. A great all in one class for both cardio and toning.

LHF Kids Love to Dance

Calling all kiddos to get up and dance!! Whether you are a pro or just so so, we’ve got the coolest dance moves for you!! Join our LHF theatre student staff members for 3 fun filled dance sessions. Week one, you will start off by getting oh so silly while learning the moves to songs like the Hokey Pokey, Chicken Dance and YMCA. Week two, will have you dancing the night away as you learn the Macarena, Thriller, Cha-Cha Slide and more. We are rounding out week three, by teaching you wild an epic dance moves like The Roger Rabbit, The Sprinkler and The Mashed Potato just to name a few!

Transitional Moments Movement Workshop

Join skilled interpretive dancers Claire Melbourne and Katherine G. Moore as you engage in guided scores based on the theme of transitions. Participants will explore through the practices of movement, sounding, stillness, dialogue with diminished light, writing, connection to the unfamiliar, and our imagination. We will bring attention to who and what we are becoming, letting go of, and bringing with us as we transition to what is next.

Dance with Me!

Have you ever wondered what exactly the Rumba is? Who leads and who follows? How do they do it on Dancing with the Stars? Wonder no more and Dance with Me! Join professional ballroom dance instructor Zoë Marshall Rashid and learn how to dance the Rumba in this fun class for beginners and experienced dancers alike. Please bring a partner and a mask!

Rise & Shine Vinyasa

Begin your day invigorated and centered while immersing yourself in the natural beauty of Lavender Hill Farm. This vinyasa style class is rhythmic and dynamic and will leave you feeling energized and refreshed for your week ahead. We will explore a series of postures while linking breath to movement.

Children’s Book Yoga

Book yoga was created to foster in children a love of reading through specialized classes that combine traditional yoga poses with storylines of children’s books. Together we will explore, balance, flexibility, strength, and relaxation through literary experiences. Develop a love of books through mind and body.
