Lavender Planting Workshop

Learn how to plant and care for lavender and take home a lavender plant and a Growing and Using Lavender Guide! After a walking tour, the group will learn to plant lavender and how to care for the plant from infancy through adulthood. Light lavender refreshments will be provided. This is a rain or shine event, and all ages are welcome. Please dress in your gardening clothes and bring gloves.

Lavender Essential Oil Distillation Workshop

Join us for a Lavender Hill Farm Distillation Experience and indulge in the luxury of lavender! During this workshop, participants will receive step-by-step guidance on the distillation process from start to finish and will take home a bottle of lavender oil and hydrosol distilled on our farm! After a farm tour, the group will learn to harvest lavender and how to distill essential oil and hydrosol. Light lavender refreshments will be provided.

Canvas Tote Paint & Sip Workshop

Please join Skilled Artisan Teacher Sharon Smithem for a relaxing summer evening at Lavender Hill Farm. Each person will be supplied with a Heavy-duty cotton canvas bag to paint on and a variety of acrylic paints for your pallets. During this class Sharon will teach you some simple painting techniques to give your artwork depth and interest. This workshop will take some time so let’s get started promptly and have some fun!

 

Lavender Hill Mixillation Workshop

Join us for the ultimate Lavender Hill Farm Artisan Class Experience with the mixillation of learning and libations. If you have a love for lavender and a passion for cocktails this class is for you. We’re combining the best of our Mixology class and our Distillation workshop into one amazing evening.

Create a Dream Catcher Workshop

Create your own hooped dreamcatcher using metal hoops, yarn, leather cord, feathers, and embellishments. It is believed that dreams flow through dreamcatchers when hung at bedside. Good dreams know how to pass through the dreamcatcher through the holes and down the feather. Bad dreams, not knowing the way, get tangled in the dreamcatcher and perish with the first light of the new day. Materials included and all skill levels welcome!

English Fascinator Workshop

Join Pamela Graham, a lifetime member of the Royal Enclosure at Royal Ascot, as she shares the inside story of this 250-year-old Great Britain sporting event.  Attendees will make an English-style fascinator. Choose one of her one-of-a-kind custom-designed kits to create a headpiece to wear for holidays, weddings, evening, or garden parties. Light lavender refreshments will be served.

Plant & Sip Workshop

Join us at the farm for our famous lavender shortbread cookies and a BYO cocktail or two while you learn how to plant and care for lavender with our very own Agriculture Department Plant Masters!

Receive step-by-step guidance on the planting and care process from start to finish and take home a lavender plant, a Growing and Using Lavender Guide and a small LHF gift from our farm to your home! 

Eucalyptus & Fresh Floral Wreath Workshop

Enjoy a peaceful summer afternoon at Lavender Hill Farm while creating your own eucalyptus and fresh floral bloom wreath. You will learn to work with eucalyptus to make your very own 18-inch wreath and then adorn it with fresh and bright in season floral to take home and display on a wall or door. All materials and step-by-step instruction will be provided by Sydney from Upsy-Daisy Floral.

Botanical Printing Workshop

Create a one-of-a-kind naturally dyed silk scarf using botanicals from your home or the farm!  Jasmine Lace of Howl at the Loom will lead you through using leaves, flowers, and metal to create beautiful prints on fabric. Explore multiple methods of transferring botanical prints to fabric and receive and take home an informational handout, one silk scarf to dye, and a cotton swatch for experimenting.

Dot Mandala Workshop

Learn the basic steps on how to create a Dot Mandala on smooth stones. We will be sketching the outline, painting with acrylic paints, using dotting techniques, and adding extra dots for decoration and finishing touches. Please join us for this mindful, fun, creative evening using sacred art!

By the Light of the Lavender Moon

The waxing crescent Moon has slipped into the underworld kingdom of Scorpio, on its way to true blue Full Moon phase, but not before it passes through its Lavender stage, that in between place where we are invited to wake into dreams and experience life’s deepest mysteries. Tonight, we may yet catch a stray Perseid as we gather under the thickest region of Milky Way stars to hear the tales of the night.

Kombucha at the Farm

Kombucha is a fermented tea that has been consumed for thousands of years. Not only does it have the same health benefits as tea, but it is also rich in beneficial probiotics and contains antioxidants. Please join Sara for a fun & insightful evening as you learn all things Kombucha! This class includes tastings, step by step brew & bottle process demonstration and a take home kit to start your very own batch of kombucha goodness.

Henna Workshop

In this introduction to the ancient art of Mehndi, students will be given an overview of what henna is, where it comes from historically and how it is used today. Learn how to prepare natural henna paste, make a henna cone, and demonstrate where and how to put it on the body. Leave with a new appreciation for henna body art and the tools to adorn themselves and others. Includes a starter kit with henna cones to take home.

Sunflower Floral Design Workshop

Enjoy a fun and relaxing afternoon at the farm while creating your own fresh sunflower floral arrangement. Join skilled florist Sydney Wormell as she teaches the basics and a bit beyond of floral arranging. In this class you will select and cut your own sunflower stems and then learn to put together a beautiful design of farm fresh sunflowers and other blooms for an arrangement you will be able to enjoy at home.

Sunflowers & Pumpkins Fall Floral Design Workshop

Enjoy a fun and relaxing fall afternoon at the farm while creating your own fresh sunflower floral arrangement. Join skilled florist Sydney Wormell as she teaches the basics and a bit beyond of floral arranging. In this class you will select and cut your own sunflower stems and then learn to put together a beautiful design of farm fresh sunflowers and other blooms in a creative pumpkin style vase for an arrangement to take with you and enjoy in your home this fall.
